Electoral College
The Electoral college is the group of people who actually vote for president. People think that they have to vote for who we choose, but just between you and me, I don't think that's really how it works.
Organizing the Government
When organizing the American government George Washington set many precedents like the presidential cabinet and that's it. Different roles were given to each cabinet member like secretary of war, secratary of state, attorney general, secretary of the treasury, and the president. They created the federal court system with the Judiciary Act of 1789 which created three levels of federal courts and defined their powers.
Remaining Neutral (French Revolution & Neutrality Proclamation)After the French revolution started and the French asked for America to be their allies in the war against Britain, George Washington created the neutrality proclamation. This proclamation stated that the United States would not take sides in any foreign wars.

Jays' Treaty & Pickneys' Treaty
The French and British were seizing American ships so Chief Justice John Jay was sent to form a treaty. This treaty stated that the British would pay damages on seized ships and abandon their forts on the Northwestern Frontier, but the U.S. would pay all debts owed to the British. Many Americans were upset with this treaty saying that it favored the British. George Washington didn't like it but thought it was the most that could be done. After the U.S. and Asia had disputes over over the port of New Orleans, seeing as the Spanish had closed it, Thomas Pickney created a most loved treaty with Spain that made Spain recognize Americas border at 31 degrees latitude and reopened the port of New Orleans and gave Americanships the right to deposit.
Conflict in the Northwest TerritoryThe native americans were angry with the Americans because they were taking all their land without asking first. One day an american troop let by General Arthur St. Clair was wiped out by an indian force led by chief Little Turtle. Command of the American army was handed to General Wayne who later defeated the indian forces in the Battle of Fallen Timbers. Later the americans and indians created a treaty that gave Americans the right to take all the indians land whenever they wanted.

Washington Says Farewell
When George Washington quit as president he gave us many warnings. He advised to country to not join any foreign wars, let a president run for more than two terms, form political parties, or borrow money. Many people were sad to see Washington go, so sad in fact that they very much disliked the second president, John Adams, no matter what he did.
